Overview


Sounds supply us with volumes of complex information that we easily interpret in order to extrapolate important details about the world around us (Bishop and Cates, 2001). The use of sound can create an atmosphere of excitement, motivation and learning by engaging students and capturing their attention. The use of audio prompts can also generate cognitive connections through the process of linking new and stored schema into memory. Cues from audio enhanced instructions can link prior information to new concepts creating a deeper level of knowledge and understanding.

Learning Differently - This podcast starts off a little slow, never the less, pay attention to where he is recording from. This demonstrates the power, flexibility and ease of audio broadcasting/podcasting. The author also makes some interesting points on integrating technology into classrooms.
