Engaging Activities for the Exploration
of Fraction, Ratio, Decimal and Percent Values

Hands-on strategies using technology, manipulatives, artwork and more to engage students in the exploration of fractions, ratios, percents and decimals. Emphasis will be placed on fostering students' understanding that these numeric forms are different methods of representing the same value.
This energetic session will provide K-6 teachers with strategies for helping students to explore fractions, ratios, percents and decimals. Emphasis will be placed on helping students understand that these different numeric forms can all be used to represent the same value. Participants will be involved in interactive small groups as they role play the part of the students.
